Nurture the Body, Nourish the Soul.

Jordan Lee Barton, LMT

With a career spanning three decades, Jordan Lee Barton has woven together practitioner expertise, educator leadership, business management, and industry advocacy to become a respected voice in the healing arts and wellness education fields.

Early Inspiration & Entry into Healing

Jordan’s introduction to hospitality began in his teens, working in his parents’ shop in a busy southern Oregon tourist town. That early experience revealed the power of clear communication and genuine service, shaping the way he would later approach healing work. Originally on a path toward teaching at the secondary level, Jordan’s transition to bodywork was guided by the same drive to educate and connect through care.

Clinical Roots & Therapeutic Depth

Beginning in 1994, Jordan worked in an integrative medical practice in Portland serving low-income, homeless, and HIV+ communities. At the Portland Alternative Acupuncture Clinic, he collaborated with naturopathic doctors, osteopaths, nurse practitioners, and acupuncturists—learning the clinical and compassionate dimensions of massage, pain management, and craniosacral therapy.

Business Leadership & Organizational Roles

After co-founding a clinical practice, Jordan expanded into leadership positions across the spa and education industries. As Massage Department Manager at Canyon Ranch Berkshires, he oversaw 50 therapists and 26 treatment rooms, refining systems for training and team development. He later served on the Oregon Board of Massage Therapy—a governor-appointed role overseeing licensure and public safety—and became General Manager and Education Director at the Oregon School of Massage, helping the school recover and innovate post-pandemic.

Teaching, Mentorship & Industry Advocacy

Since 2004, Jordan has taught core and continuing education courses at eight schools across six states, covering topics such as energy work, craniosacral therapy, polarity therapy, reflexology, and integrative pain management. Through Myopothecary, he now blends his teaching and practice, leading Peer Circles—community discussions that connect therapists and students nationwide.
